At the Chan Zuckerberg Imaging Institute we aim to cure, prevent, or manage all diseases by the end of the century by developing new imaging hardware and software tools. I am part of a collaborative team that uses cryo tomography to probe cellular organization at molecular resolution using state-of-the-art technology.

Since joining the cryoEM team at UCSF I have established and set up cutting-edge technologies to bring cellular Cryo-tomography to the research community at UCSF. We now have the capabilities to image frozen, hydrated cells by Cryo light microscopy, mill windows into cells using Cryo Focused Ion Beam - Scanning Electron Microscopy (cryoFIB-SEM) and then generate high-resolution cryoEM data to answer cell-biology questions in situ.
