Participated in (and later mentored/managed) a team of multidisciplinary engineering students in one of the nation's most technically challenging engineering competitions, the NASA Student Launch. Presented to — and grilled by! — NASA engineers numerous times.
We designed and developed high-power rockets capable of complex autonomous behavior such as apogee targeting, roll control, and controlled descent, all while collecting valuable flight data through onboard electronic payloads and flight software. Aside from raw materials, off-the-shelf motors, and programmable electronics, everything in our rockets was designed, machined, assembled, and thoroughly tested in-house.
