# Giovanni Valdenegro > Staff Product Designer · 0→1 Products · AI & Autonomous Systems · EU/US Remote Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/giovannivaldenegro Staff Product Designer with 10+ years building 0→1 products at the intersection of AI, autonomous systems, and complex data infrastructure. I specialize in making sophisticated AI capabilities feel intuitive and accessible — conversational interfaces, agentic workflows, API products, developer tools. Currently at Gopher AI, designing real-time social data APIs and agent workflows that power AI applications. Previously: document intelligence at Humata AI, autonomous drone systems at Ware, and fintech infrastructure at Pngme — where I grew from Senior Product Designer to CPO through $75M valuation. I bring technical depth (CS background, hands-on front-end experience) and business thinking to design work. First designer at DroneDeploy; built and led design teams at multiple startups. Products I've designed are used by millions. Based in Croatia. Open to EU/US remote. ## Work Experience ### Staff Product Designer @ Gopher Jan 2024 – Present | Croatia Gopher AI (formerly Masa) provides real-time social media data infrastructure for AI developers — APIs that let LLMs and autonomous agents access Twitter/X, Reddit, and other platforms for sentiment analysis, predictions, and agentic workflows. As Staff Product Designer, I own end-to-end product design across the platform: the API experience, developer-facing tools, and the interfaces that make complex data accessible. Designed agent-ready experiences that enable AI developers to build smarter applications — from sentiment analysis to prediction markets. Also led design for autonomous trading products, including perpetual futures interfaces and sentiment-driven trading strategies built on real-time social signals. ### Senior Product Designer @ Humata Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 | San Francisco Bay Area Humata is an AI-powered document intelligence platform — think ChatGPT for your PDFs. Users upload documents and ask questions; the LLM finds answers with citations. Led product design across the platform, serving legal teams, researchers, and enterprise customers dealing with large document sets. Designed conversational interfaces for complex document analysis — the UX challenge of making AI outputs feel trustworthy and verifiable. Built fact-checking workflows for high-stakes review where errors carry real consequences. Focused on the hard problems in LLM interfaces: citation accuracy, confidence signaling, and helping users know when to trust AI outputs. ### Senior Product Designer (Acquired by Gather AI) @ Ware Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 Ware (now Gather AI) automates warehouse inventory using autonomous drones — replacing slow, error-prone manual cycle counts with scheduled flights and real-time inspection. Led product design from 0→1, creating the web platform for scheduling drone missions and remotely reviewing inventory data at scale. Owned product strategy and roadmap, working closely with warehouse operators to design workflows that fit into existing operations. Drove 60% increase in product usage and helped the company reach $1.2M ARR. The product needed to earn trust in environments where accuracy matters and downtime costs money — similar design challenges to my later work on AI trust at Humata. ### CPO @ Pngme Jan 2020 – Jan 2022 | San Francisco Bay Area Promoted from Senior Product Designer to lead product strategy through Series A and $75M valuation. Built and led the product team, owned roadmap and prioritization, and worked across engineering, sales, and operations to ship. Continued hands-on design work while operating at the executive level — one of those rare roles that required both altitudes. Helped scale a product that expanded financial access for people historically excluded from formal credit systems. ### Senior Product Designer (Fintech) @ Pngme Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 | San Francisco Bay Area Pngme provides credit infrastructure for African financial institutions — enabling lenders to assess borrowers using financial data that was previously inaccessible. Joined as first product designer. Designed the full product stack from 0→1: React Native app for financial data collection (permissions-based access to SMS, mobile money, and banking data), web platform for lender workflows, and the API layer powering integrations. Focused on the core UX challenge — making sensitive data collection feel trustworthy to end users while delivering actionable credit signals to lenders. ### Lead Product Designer @ Ease Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 | San Francisco Bay Area Ease (now Employee Navigator) is an HR and benefits platform that helps small businesses manage health insurance enrollment, onboarding, and compliance. The platform serves 70K+ businesses and 2M+ employees. Built and led the product design team — hiring designers and establishing design processes from scratch. Designed core platform features from 0→1, including mobile health insurance enrollment flows. Health insurance enrollment is notoriously painful UX — dense information, high stakes for users, complex compliance requirements. Focused on simplifying those workflows without losing the detail that HR teams and employees actually need. ### Lead Product Designer @ Constellation Labs Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | San Francisco Bay Area Constellation Labs built decentralized infrastructure for IoT and big data — a blockchain protocol designed for device networks and high-throughput data exchange. Led product design for the platform. Designed network visualization tools that helped node operators understand system health, and a gamified rewards system to drive community engagement. Also hired and managed a small team of designers and engineers. ### Product Designer @ DroneDeploy Jan 2015 – Jan 2018 | San Francisco DroneDeploy is the leading enterprise drone software platform — turning drones into data capture tools for agriculture, construction, and industrial inspection. The platform handles flight planning, autonomous missions, and 2D/3D mapping and analysis. Joined as first product designer, building the design function from the ground up. Designed web and mobile experiences for the full drone workflow — mission planning, autonomous flight execution, and aerial data analysis that helped teams make decisions about crops, job sites, and infrastructure. Helped scale the product from agriculture roots into enterprise construction, landing major deals as the platform proved its value for site surveying and progress tracking. Surpassed 1M+ acres of captured data during my time there. This role shaped how I think about designing for autonomous systems — interfaces that help humans trust, supervise, and collaborate with machines. ## Education ### Advanced UX Design Intensive in UX Design Cooper Professional Education Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/giovannigastelum - Portfolio: http://giovanni.guru --- Source: https://flows.cv/giovannivaldenegro JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/giovannivaldenegro/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-25
