Currently working on a refined search functionality with both syntactic and semantic matching. Features are shipped to production quickly & impact real customers. ### IMPACT Leadership Program @ FTI Consulting Jan 2026 – Present Spring 2026 ### Researcher (Mathematics & Computer Science Division) @ Argonne National Laboratory Jan 2025 – Present Expanding MPICH-RCCL integration to exascale testing on the supercomputer Frontier (AMD GPUs) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, evaluating additional collectives, and applying the work to real-world scientific applications. This research advances GPU-accelerated MPI for distributed AI and HPC workloads, producing broadly publishable results that support Argonne’s mission in high-performance computing. ### Department of Energy SULI Intern @ Argonne National Laboratory Jan 2025 – Jan 2025 As part of the MPI4AI initiative at Argonne National Lab, I worked on integrating AMD’s RCCL into MPICH, a leading open-source MPI implementation. The goal was to enhance MPI’s performance for AI workloads by leveraging RCCL’s GPU-optimized collective operations within the MPI framework. I implemented and tested the Allreduce backend, evaluated performance on systems like JLSE and Frontier, and explored hybrid approaches that mix RCCL with native MPI to deliver optimal results. This work contributes to a broader effort to unify communication libraries across HPC and AI platforms. Supervisor: Dr. Mike Wilkins, Maria Goeppert Mayer Fellow ### Software Engineer Intern @ Venu AI Jan 2024 – Present Implemented full-stack authenticated Microsoft sign-on using Django and React with secure session handling on Azure. Automated internal security and access-control workflows by integrating Git CI to reduce manual overhead. Performed prompt engineering tasks for refined LLM use. ### Researcher (Large-scale Sustainable Systems Group) @ University of Chicago Jan 2025 – Present Implemented parallel-thread OpenSHMEM runtimes in C++ on the novel UpDown architecture, a flexible, general-purpose data-movement and graph computing system. Built microbenchmarks to validate correctness and quantify latency and throughput across runtime configurations. ### Researcher (Data, Agents, & Processes Lab) @ Columbia University Jan 2025 – Present Implemented priority scheduling policy in Cortex, a workflow-aware serving platform for agentic LLMs with stage-level resource isolation. Integrated HuggingFace, SGLang, OpenAI interfaces, & AWS GPU infrastructure to support these workflows. ### Head Teaching Assistant (Computer Science Department) @ Columbia University Jan 2025 – Present COMS1004 & COMS1002/1012 Led recitations, held office hours, and provided hands-on debugging support for 250+ students, troubleshooting code and reinforcing core CS concepts through live walkthroughs. As Head TA, coordinated TA operations and course logistics, ensured grading consistency via rubrics and calibration, and served as the primary communication bridge between the professor and the teaching staff. ### Notetaker for Office of Disability Services @ Columbia University Jan 2024 – Present Provided clear, well-organized, and comprehensive notes on a timely basis to support disabled students in achieving academic success, while coordinating closely with the Office of Disability Services (both Columbia and Barnard) to meet specific student needs. Courses: Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra and Probability, Ordinary Differential Equations, Modern Algebra ### Fellow @ Columbia Organization of Rising Entrepreneurs Jan 2025 – Present ### Community Chair @ Columbia Women in Computer Science Jan 2025 – Present ### Internal Engagement Chair @ Girls Who Code at Columbia University Jan 2025 – Present ### Dancer @ Columbia Repertory Ballet Jan 2024 – Present ### Dancer @ Columbia Ballet Collaborative Jan 2024 – Present ### Private Tutor @ Amikka Learning Jan 2025 – Present Provided individualized SAT/ACT/AP tutoring, tailoring instruction and practice plans to each student’s goals while maintaining clear, consistent communication with students and families. Delivered measurable outcomes, including 200+ point SAT score increases through targeted concept reinforcement and exam strategy. ### Private Tutor @ Bethesda Scholars LLC Jan 2025 – Present Provided individualized SAT/ACT/AP tutoring, tailoring instruction and practice plans to each student’s goals while maintaining clear, consistent communication with students and families. Supported AP STEM coursework across Computer Science, Calculus, Physics, and Statistics through targeted concept reinforcement and exam strategy. ### Campus Partner @ Crew Dog Jan 2024 – Present Supported Crew Dog’s campus brand presence through on-campus activations and social media, contributing to over $40K in semesterly sales by driving awareness and conversion. Coordinated as the liaison between the brand and the university, partnering with student organizations to plan merch, align messaging, and execute campaigns smoothly. ### Software Engineer Fellow @ curaJOY Jan 2025 – Jan 2025 Built a cyberbullying detection system using classical machine learning, deep learning, and transformers. Preprocessed labeled dataset of social media comments through stopword removal, lemmatization, tokenization, and SMOTE oversampling to correct class imbalance. Three feature-engineering pipelines: TF-IDF vectors, token-based embedding, and DistilBERT subword tokenization. Implemented four models: TF-IDF ensembles, TF-IDF + neural network, BiLSTM + word embeddings, and fine-tuned DistilBERT. Evaluated accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score with threshold tuning. F1 score improved from 0.444 (classic ML) to 0.992 (fine-turning BERT). Integrated end-to-end annotation UI in online platform & deployed on AWS to enable scalable data labeling. ### Vice President of Public Relations @ Stars Youth Charity Club Jan 2017 – Jan 2023 Led fundraising initiatives, assisted dance instruction at local dance studios, organized events at senior centers and amusement parks, and performed community service at food banks and Salvation Army. Tutored English-learning children in China. Received the President's Volunteer Service Award (gold 3x, bronze 1x). ## Education ### Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Dance Columbia University Jan 2024 – Jan 2028 ### Canyon Crest Academy Jan 2019 – Jan 2023 ### Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 ### Dance North County Academy of Dance Jan 2020 – Jan 2023 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/ggracelii - Website: https://www.ggracelii.com/ --- Source: https://flows.cv/graceli1 JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/graceli1/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-01
