Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | San Francisco Bay Area I was part of the Immuno-oncology team at Second Genome. I conducted research involving the identification and validation of novel therapeutic targets from the gut microbiome, as well as their potential effects towards various in vitro systems. My daily activities involved performing immunological assays to measure cytokine readouts in these different systems, cell culture, flow cytometry/FACS analysis, qPCR, assay/protocol development and optimization, and using GraphPad/PRISM to generate standard curves, graphs, and statistical data. ### Research Intern @ Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Buffalo-Niagara Falls Area My research focus was to determine the effects of inhibiting the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signal transduction pathways in chemotherapy-sensitive and -resistant models of Burkitt Lymphoma (ML) with single and combined exposure of GSK458 and JQ1. I perfected the laboratory techniques that I had previously learned from my past research internships, and also learned new techniques such as Flow Cytometry, Southern Blotting, and Assay/Protocol development. In addition, I attended weekly lab meetings and had to give a formal presentation at the end of the program to many established medical doctors and professors. Lastly, I had the opportunity to shadow my PI, who is a physician that works in the pediatric hematology department of the Roswell Park hospital. ### Research Intern @ UC Berkeley Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | Berkeley, CA My research focus was identifying how mir-34s mediated the downstream effects of p53 to prevent malignant transformations.
