As part of a technical team of 12 members I was involved in the development and maintenance of two games. In this role, I had to keep up with the very demanding pace of this industry (6-8 weeks to develop a new game from scratch, and after that, deploying new features every week).
My tasks included the technical design of new features for the games, to plan and oversee the technical tasks involved, and to guarantee that the new releases were deployed into production meeting all the company’s quality standards and within the timeframe agreed with the Product Management.
I was also involved in transitioning the ownership of one of the games to a team in Brazil, so they could successfully overtake the development and maintenance tasks related to this game.
Technologies used in this project included: Java, Tomcat, Memcached, Spring, Mysql.
The design of these application required high scalability, since these games are accessed by millions of users on a daily basis. They were deployed on the Amazon EC2 infrastructure. Users accessed the games using their Facebook and Orkut accounts.
