Full stack software engineer with an interest in complex data structures and algorithms. I thrive to create robust solutions to complex challenges. Most recent experience has been with TypeScript, React/Redux, Next.js, Node.js/Express, and PostgreSQL. Currently I’m working on an open-source product called Dekaf, which is an error handling and monitoring tool for Apache Kafka. 

When I’m not working I can be found playing chess, reading scifi/fantasy novels, and reading manga/watching anime.

## Work Experience
### Software Engineer @ Dekaf
Jan 2023 – Present
- Designed a tool for streamlined management of Dead Letter Queues and real-time data flow monitoring within Apache Kafka, optimizing developer workflow and system supervision
 					 							
- Utilized Next.js to optimize component reusability by integrating a balanced combination of server-side and client-side components, alongside effective routing and data persistence strategies, to enhance overall application efficiency and maintainability
 						
- Established an Apache Kafka broker to facilitate seamless communication between the Producer API and Consumer API. Visualization and interactivity of application metrics and errors were made feasible through the implementation of a custom API
 							
- Implemented TypeScript to enhance code maintainability and readability, reduce debugging time, and ensure robust type checking throughout the application lifecycle by creating reusable interfaces and 

- Implemented Redux for streamlined and organized state management by effectively tracking metrics on the frontend

### Software Engineer @ Teledata Communications, Inc.
Jan 2017 – Jan 2022
- Built an optimized/reusable API to support front end developers in fetching data. This helped automate what was manual and reduced redundant code. To date, this library has been extended upon to be used by several branches of the company.
- Collaborated and performed user research with clients to discover future feature implementations.
- Was responsible for on-boarding and training interns/new hires on the team as well as maintaining code base quality. 
- Built custom features based on business specific logic using JavaScript and JSON. This included integrating and translating user choices in front end code to customize pages for said user.

### Software Developer Internship @ FlightPartner
Jan 2016 – Jan 2016
- Developed a technical implementation of embeddable JavaScript widget purposed to provide quotas for private jet bookings on external client sites.
- Rebuilt JavaScript and jQuery mobile browser platform as native Android application with Android Studio.
- Refactored HTTP requests in Android booking system to ensure 100% compatibility with 4+ RESTful APIs.
