I like full stack web development, human computer interaction, gaze based interaction, teaching programming, distributed systems, and making my work available to the public. ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Modern Treasury Jan 2022 – Present | New York City Metropolitan Area Team: Payment Rails Specializing in automated low-cost international payments terminating in the UK (BACS/CHAPS), Europe (SEPA, Nordic countries), Australia (BECS) and Hong Kong (CHATS) which collectively represent millions of dollars being moved per month. ### Course Assistant @ University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | Urbana-Champaign Area Helped start CS 277: Data Structures in Python and then helped CS 225: Data Structures with holding labs, office hours, improving operational efficiency and helping kickstart writing the textbook. ### REU Internship @ University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 ● Collaborated in a team of 4 researchers that developed an accessible live broadcast player (React, Redux, DvaJS), creating the first widely accessible Board of Trustees operation across 3 universities. ● Implemented ARIA support on 3 different website features and fixed keyboard accessibility for 28 actions. ● Filed 27 issues accessibility and feature improvements, outlining a future roadmap for a team of 10+ developers. ### Head Course Assistant @ University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 CS 125: Intro to Computer Science ● Co-led a group of 200+ undergraduate and graduate staff to teach a class of 600+ students Java and Kotlin. ● Improved operations by establishing a check-in and meeting structure with 124 total responses to uplift diverse staff opinions. ● Selected 17 weekly reading articles for a class of 600+ students that impacted 8-16% of exam grades. ### Undergraduate Research Assistant @ University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Jan 2019 – Jan 2021 | Urbana-Champaign Area I worked with in team lead by one graduate student and 3 undergrad students while collaborating with the US Army Research Lab. I worked on the eye tracking aspect of the experiment (C#, Tobii 4c), replay systems (C# and Python) and paper writing. The project was about complacency in human AI teaming using OpenAI's gym recurrent learning framework which could be applied in contexts like human drone collaboration. This lead to a paper published in SPIE Defense + Commercial Sensing. The second project was adding context awareness to AR based voice assistants, by allowing people to make queries like "What is the price of this?" or "What can I make with these?" and then taking visual input via a camera to understand. I worked on the writing and literature review sections of the paper. ### Course Associate @ University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 ● Answered 50+ questions on the CS 125 (Intro Computer Science) and led 7 international time zone office hours to accommodate students in other countries due to the pandemic. ● Revived and Hosted CS199: EMP (Even More Practice) for lectures a week focusing on concept review and working on questions live. ● Pushed for changes towards better support for disabilities and gender minorities. ### Course Developer @ University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 | Urbana-Champaign Area ● Established CS 199: Introduction to Kotlin Programming with Prof. Geoffrey Challen, instructing Kotlin to 50+ undergraduate students.
