I am a full-stack developer working with Typescript, React and Node.js with a focus on User Experience. My most recent project is co-creating kafkAlerts, a metric and alerting tool for Apache Kafka clusters. 

Outside of coding you can find me admiring watches, solving puzzles, and writing screenplays and essays.

### Software Engineer @ CS Engineering
Jan 2023 – Present
- Re-engineered class based React components into functional components utilizing React and Redux hooks to improve codebase readability for an internal administration tool.
- Increased Jest unit test coverage to ensure functionality of Node.js backend controllers to increase the reliability of a public site serving 150k users annually.
- Carried out code reviews for engineers, ensuring engineering best practices, and led technical lectures for engineers on topics including the JavaScript DOM, React, Redux, and Authentication.
- Mentored teams of engineers through the complete Software Development Life Cycle of an open source product to ensure effective collaboration, agile methodology, and proper workflow from ideation to deployment. 
- Conducted technical interviews to assess JavaScript knowledge, technical communication skills, problem solving ability and overall company culture fit of applicants.

### Software Engineer @ kafkAlerts (Open Source)
Jan 2023 – Jan 2023
- Constructed a React based, web browser interface with reusable components to display urgently relevant Apache Kafka broker metric information efficiently
- Integrated Adobe’s React Aria library of hooks to create easily modifiable React components that are more compatible with screen readers and keyboard navigation to provide an accessible user experience 
- Created a Jest, Jest-Axe, and React Testing Library to run a parallel suite of unit tests to ensure functionality and reliability of new features, accuracy of React component rendering, and to catch fundamental accessibility issues
- Utilized Docker to construct a containerized Apache Kafka server with synthetic client workloads used as an internal tool capable of being deployed on a variety of operating systems
- Built Figma mockups to allow for easy iteration of application design and establish clear style objectives
- Managed Jira and Confluence workspaces to organize scrum sprints and maintain proper Agile workflow
