• Worked with SMEs to optimise internal processes with technology, with a focus on minimising costs and ease of use. This involved assessing existing processes from first customer contact to deal close, and identifying opportunities for decreasing labour spend with technology.
• Built bespoke internal tooling utilising both code and no-code solutions, integrating with external APIs and software to ensure low maintenance requirements for the client moving forwards.
• Created digital and physical marketing strategies/materials for the client.

Built Bump - the platform that helps people make new friends and form meaningful connections.
Bump was built on the idea that the mental health crisis and loneliness epidemic aren't separate, but intrinsically linked. People have less "close" friends than ever before, and community is a dying concept. Technology and social media doesn't connect us simply because it can't - connection isn't virtual, it's real. To solve these problems technology needs to help society adapt it's social patterns and networks to the modern world, and this is what Bump does. We use technology and machine learning to understand what really makes you, you. Not just the superficial things, but the things that actually matter to you. Then we find other people just like you and help you connect with them, but you still have to make the connection, we can't do that for you.

Embarc is an events-focused community empowering exceptional future founders. Having been an active member since their launch, I was asked by the founding team to help the CTO in developing the technical side of the product.
The CTO's focus was on the customer facing product, mine on the internal tooling and data. After exploring existing solutions and dismayed to find no existing solutions that met our requirements, we set out to create a new platform.
We built out a suite of tooling for events management, social media, user and community management, and analytics. In doing so we explored how the data was structured and migrated the database to MongoDB.

Awarded a place on the Academy scholar programme to train as a full stack software engineer (1 of 9 speculative spaces from a pool of several hundred candidates).
Consistently exceeded the scope of the course, going beyond the provided content and learning more advanced concepts whilst utilising them in projects.
Led sessions to teach fellow scholars topics adjacent to the curriculum, as well as help with concepts I had already covered.
Received exposure to DevOps practices and engineering workflows, alongside their usage on collaborative projects.
The programme placed emphasis on leadership skills through training and embracing the attributes of a good collaborator, technical communicator, and taking initiative when opportunities present themselves. This training focused on growth of emotional intelligence, navigating team dynamics, and building cohesion within a team.
Adopting an agile work-style and completing team-based problems/projects and leading technical discussions and reviews.
Actively received and gave meaningful feedback to develop technically and as a person, with the goal of becoming more conscientious of my role and impact on the team culture.
