Tech lead, Identity and configuration team
- Scoped, designed, wrote specs, and acted as product manager for a complete overhaul of permissions at Assembled. This redesign replaced the previously fixed five out of the box roles with extensive customizability and played an important part in acquiring and retaining the company's four largest customers. Demand was so high that 50% of ARR was using the feature before it became generally available.
- Led a team of three engineers and one designer to implement an authorization framework that handles tens of millions of requests per day.
- Developed an approach to support multi-tiered filter hierarchies and started the migration for queues.
- Designed a new staffing model to account for the nuances of asynchronous and back office work (which is assigned for extended periods of time, but isn't always being actively worked on).
- Built an integration that synchronizes user data with Salesforce service cloud.
- Revamped the forecast configuration UI.

- Scoped, designed, and led the development of public studies, a feature that allows researchers to publish their studies directly within the platform, making the results and data publicly accessible on an SEO optimized site.
- Developed study and data sharing capabilities to allow researchers to share samples and results across organizations for collaborative studies.
- Launched support for self-serve sign ups, allowing academic users to start using the platform without contacting sales.
- Centralized Postgres configuration, ORM, and migration code in order to enable code reuse across packages and consistent database schemas.

- Designed and led the implementation of cached metrics v1, a live-updating caching system for customer reports. Improved initial page load time by 99% for customers with over 1000 users, from 30s to ~100ms. Achieved an average of 0 timeouts per 24-hour period on pages that previously timed out over 50% of the time.
- Introduced Golang linting, test coverage, and improved error readability with stack traces.
- Contributed to remote dev v2, the cloud development environment that is still in use today.
- Developed the first data validation and reconciliation tools for several integrations.
- Resolved numerous incidents related to RDS, EC2, and SQS while on-call.

Forecasting team
- Designed and implemented much of the framework underlying email backlog tracking, a feature unique to Assembled as a workforce management platform.
- Rolled out an entirely new forecasting model, based on Facebook Prophet, to numerous customers.
- Rebuilt the in-product forecast accuracy reporting tool from the ground up, achieving close to 100% opt-in adoption from existing customers two weeks after launching.
- Introduced internal dashboards and alerting to improve visibility into forecasting performance (and upstream issues) across the site as well as one-off reports to identify potential improvements for specific customers.
- Built out improved forecast upload functionality to provide more flexibility to customers with various levels of intervention from in-house data science teams.

Saw the company grow from 40 employees to over 100.
