Prototyped the front-ends of new user flows in accordance with design spec. Built an interface for managing translations on the InCrowd platform. Performed front-end maintenance, including nontrivial upgrades to Babel and changes to npm structure.

Researched, developed, and implemented skeleton states for PLM’s homepage timeline. Architected front-end for PLM’s Topics feature from production design. Migrated PLM’s front-end tests from Mocha to Jest, improving test runtime by 50% both locally and in CI. Wrote admin tools for managing user-targeted posts and a helper library for working with back-end tags. Conducted workshops on Async/Await, and on testing React components with Jest and Enzyme. Updated PLM’s component hierarchy to use React’s Error Boundaries feature. Added generation and use of JS sourcemaps to PLM’s front-end build process and error reporting.

Engineer on the JavaScript Platforms team, which collaborated on advancing front-end development at Wayfair (i.e. an ongoing move to React). Expanded, maintained, and provided support for Tungsten.js, Wayfair’s custom front-end JS framework. Consulted for various teams; wrote solutions to significant blocking front-end problems. Conducted ramp-up and training sessions on both JavaScript and its status at Wayfair. Maintained and improved the company’s JavaScript build process. Monitored hourly code deploys, hunted for lingering bugs, reviewed outgoing JavaScript code, and trained new JavaScript reviewers in a rotating week-long critical support role.
