# Henry Swanson > Software Engineer at Northwood Location: Redwood City, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/henryswanson ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Northwood Jan 2026 – Present ### Senior Production Engineer @ Meta Jan 2021 – Jan 2026 | Menlo Park, California, United States ### Production Engineer @ Meta Jan 2017 – Jan 2022 | Menlo Park, California, United States ### Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow @ Caltech Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Caltech Summer research project with Caltech High Speed Integrated Circuits Lab (CHIC). Prototyped software to simulate the radiation patterns of an antenna, and iteratively modify the antenna shape to produce a given pattern. This work has applications in automated antenna design. ### Intern @ Pure Storage Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | Mountain View, California Intern project with the customer escalations team, and one other intern. Created monitoring service to run developer-created "fingerprint" diagnostics on incoming customer telemetry data. Worked with escalations team to diagnose poorly-performing fingerprints, enabling them to decrease average runtime by 10x. This has since grown into a key tool for the escalations team: https://blog.purestorage.com/products/an-inside-look-at-big-data-predictive-analytics-with-pure1-part-1/ ### Counselor @ PROMYS Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 | Boston, Massachusetts, United States PROMYS is a six-week summer math program, where ~90 high school students are introduced to proof-based mathematics, often for the first time. I had been a student there for the previous two summers, and it made a profound impression on me. Because of that, I was very excited to return as a counselor and pay it forward. As a counselor, I graded students' problem sets, mentored a group research project, gave self-contained topics presentations, and encouraged students to form lifelong connections with other budding mathematicians. ### Intern @ University of Minnesota Center for Magnetic Resonance Research Jan 2013 – Jan 2013 | Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States Created a visualization tool for particular types of brain MRI scans. Diffusion tensor imaging measures how much water can diffuse in a particular direction; this shows the orientation of neurons. This tool plotted these inferred neuron orientations, creating a 3D map of the brain structure. ### Instructor @ St. Paul Academy and Summit School Jan 2012 – Jan 2012 | St Paul, Minnesota, United States Organized and taught an independent, student-led, computer science study group. (At the time, the school did not have a CS curriculum.) Students took the AP CS A exam at the end of the course. Worked with faculty to negotiate administrative approval and plan coursework. Gave lectures, graded homework, and wrote quizzes and tests. ## Education ### Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematics, Computer Science Caltech ### SPA ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/henry-swanson - GitHub: https://github.com/HenrySwanson/ --- Source: https://flows.cv/henryswanson JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/henryswanson/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-10
