I was a member of the Content Rendering team, the main backend engineering team working on the CMS of Squarespace. My main project involved improving the performance and cacheability of Instagram Blocks, which are image galleries that automatically import and display images from a given Instagram account. I worked in Java to change the way these blocks are rendered. My improvements resulted in 20% fewer cache misses across all Squarespace sites. Additionally, I developed a prototype Instagram Block for internal use.
