In this first-ever role at The Post, I helped devise and lead adoption of our accessibility standards, which were open sourced at build.washingtonpost.com/resources/accessibility. I wore multiple hats in this role, writing code for multiple teams (primarily in React/Typescript) and conducting manual testing with assistive technology while also identifying and presenting accessibility solutions to stakeholders.
I prototyped potential accessibility features, audited work from teams in engineering and the newsroom, and served as a public-facing resource by reviewing reader emails and coordinating our accessibility help guide at https://helpcenter.washingtonpost.com/hc/en-us/categories/13893728442907-Accessibility-
