As a core API engineer, I worked on all things Fastly API, including building core product work, writing documentation and changelog entries, maintaining the API styleguide, and contributing to SDKs, npm packages, and gems. 

Entrusted with ensuring API reliability and resilience, improving performance, bolstering caching strategies, and delivering core product work.

Expanded Fastly’s authentication and authorization systems which provided customers with more granular access rules.

Diagnosed and remediated the root causes of several performance bottlenecks which led to increased system availability, reduced alerting by 90%, and substantially decreased the amount of on-call incidents.

Served as an embedded API engineer on several large scale company-wide initiatives (most notably implementing core product work on Fastly’s Edge Compute platform).

• Maintaining and building upon large ADA compliant map based application with millions of views per month using React, Docker, Google maps, Leaflet and Mapbox GL JS.

• Writing end to end tests with Cypress.io, unit tests with Mocha / Chai and snapshot tests with Jest.
