As part of an ongoing study into the antibody binding activity to the Zika Virus (ZIKV) polyprotein, I implemented a normalization algorithm to adjust peptide array binding data. The normalization algorithm leveraged PCA to consider the physiochemical properties of the amino acids comprising the polyprotein. I then wrote a detection algorithm to identify positive binding sites. The connections between antibody binding and infant outcomes were described in a paper published in Frontiers in Immunology entitled "Control of maternal Zika virus infection during pregnancy is associated with lower antibody titers in a macaque model".
