# Isaac Mendel > Engineer at Jane Street | Imperial MSci Physics Location: London Area, United Kingdom, United Kingdom Profile: https://flows.cv/isaacmendel I am an MSci physics graduate from Imperial college London with specific interests in cosmology, astronomy, nano-materials, electronics and modelling. My MSci thesis focussed upon using transit spectroscopy survey data in order to determine and analyse the atmospheric properties of exoplanet WASP-69b via wavelength dependent analysis and computational modelling of the light absorbed by the planets atmosphere during a transit event. I am currently working as a Trade Desk Operations Engineer at Jane Street. ## Work Experience ### Engineer @ Jane Street Jan 2023 – Present ### Lab Demonstrator @ Imperial College London Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 | London, England, United Kingdom Working in 1st year labs as a demonstrator assisting students in performing new experiments and analysing data. ### Undergraduate Researcher @ Imperial College London Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | London, England, United Kingdom A Summer research placement I completed supervised by Jenny Nelson in the Experimental Solid State Physics Group. The organic semiconductor molecule IDTBT exhibits incredibly large hole mobilities for an organic semiconductor and so is a substance of interest for use in organic photovoltaics. As part of the placement I investigated the charge transport properties of IDTB(X) samples to attempt to understand how varying molecule substructure can affect hole mobility. A Time of Flight method was used to measure current profiles by pulsing samples with a Class 4 laser that I independently operated. This was accompanied by a Drift/Diffusion charge transport model that I developed using python and compared to the datasets to better understand the reaction of current profiles for sub laser pulse width transport. ### UKSA Spintern @ KISPE Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | Farnborough, England, United Kingdom UKSA Spinternship at KISPE Space Systems Ltd to review microsatellite power system architectures and prototype and test elements to enable evaluation and performance assessment. The output from the project will aid in the power system and thermal trade-offs and wider spacecraft modelling and development activities for the KISPE Next Generation Microsatellite and Open Source Satellite developments. Culminated in developing a poster presentation for the UK Space Conference 2021. ### Invited workshop creators for Space Science Outreach project funded by the UKSA @ Unknown Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | London, England, United Kingdom ## Education ### Master's degree in Physics Imperial College London ### A-Level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry The Bishop’s Stortford High School ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/isaacmendel --- Source: https://flows.cv/isaacmendel JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/isaacmendel/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-05
