# Ishan Khaparde > Software Engineer II at Microsoft Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/ishan I am passionate about technology and problem solving. I am always looking for new and interesting problems to solve and technologies to learn. I have experience with web development frameworks such as Angular, React, Node. I built a web application for a hotel reservation system using MEAN stack. I used React to develop a web application for data visualization. React Sparklines was used for generating the plots. Also worked with blockchain technologies such as IBM Hyperledger Fabric. I contributed to a project around fabric and was solely responsible for the front end of the system( An Android application ) Also have experience with Machine Learning, building machine learning models for image and text data. I have worked with support vector machines, ensemble methods like Random Forest, deep learning technologies such as CNN and R-FCN. I have implemented solvers for Support vector classifiers using NVIDIA CUDA to speed up training by using GPU for computation. ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer II @ Microsoft Jan 2022 – Present | Mountain View, California, United States Azure Cosmos DB ### Software Engineer II @ Dell EMC Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | Santa Clara, California, United States Brief outline of my current role : Working on the Analytics team at Dell EMC on migration and placement services to predict the optimal system to store data based on current disk usage and performance to maintain optimal dedup. Working on capacity projection as a service, used machine learning to predict how time before storage capacity runs out. Also working to develop REST API for the several microservices that are a part of migration and placement, deployed within docker containers. ### Software Engineer II @ Dell EMC Jan 2018 – Jan 2022 | Santa Clara, California Developed and maintained automation libraries and test cases for the security team using an in-house PyTest based automation framework. Worked closely with CI/CD teams to ensure smooth functioning of acceptance tests and worked on the related infrastructure. Worked on feature development for the DDOS product. ### Research Assistant @ George Mason University Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Washington D.C. Metro Area My job as a research assistant involved building a mobile application for the IBM TrialChain Project. The project involved building a blockchain based, medical record sharing system for doctors and patients. The blockchain used was IBM's Hyperledger. The mobile application I built was for Android devices and built using Java. The application provided an interface for doctors and patients to read records and post records to the blockchain, and also implemented a messaging system for communication between doctors and patients. ### Research Intern @ Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | Mumbai Area, India During my internship, I worked on optimizing Java parsers and discovering ways to refactor Java code at compile time. I generated concept lattices to visualise usage of class members in class methods for Java classes to determine what class members could be possibly be defined as local variables in class methods and vice versa so that the instance of the class occupies less memory at runtime. I contributed towards building a custom parser for the Java programming language which would replace the parser in the research group's custom Java compiler and JVM. I worked under Prof. Rushikesh Joshi during this internship. ## Education ### Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer Science George Mason University Jan 2016 – Jan 2018 ### Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science Shri Ramdeobaba Kamla Nehru Engineering College, Katol Road Jan 2012 – Jan 2016 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/ishan-khaparde - GitHub: https://github.com/ishan-khaparde --- Source: https://flows.cv/ishan JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/ishan/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-22
