One of two students at Case Western Reserve University invited to apply for a fully funded study abroad program. While abroad, I studied Mandarin and was lectured on Chinese education, history, culture, foreign policy, politics, energy, U.S China Relations and its economics development. I also went on various cultural tours, including trips to The Great Wall, The Forbidden City, and the Shanghai Urban Planning Center.

While in China, I acquired a sufficient level of fluency in Mandarin allowing me to bargain with Chinese street vendors. I broadened my cultural horizons by interacting with locals and Chinese university students.
