Moved across and embedded on all product teams, driving large interface redesigns across our ops, provider, and patient-facing experiences. Took Design Systems to a self-sustaining level of operating maturity and moved full-time onto the product team, focusing on transforming the patient experience and launching our enterprise offering. Helped manage change through several major leadership transitions and re-orgs, most notably stepping in as Interim Head of Design, focused on hiring our new VP of Design. ### Design Director @ Starcity Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 We design, build, and operate shared homes for people looking for community and a more affordable housing option in expensive cities. As the Design Director, I lead the Brand & Product design team. On the Brand side, we employ a service design mentality to ensure brand excellence across all surfaces of our experience: everything from marketing to customer service to interior spaces to internal team culture. On the Product side, we deliver a mobile app experience that's the companion to the analog experience in our homes — helping members become friends IRL — and an internal web app that makes our staff operationally efficient. In January 2020 I joined the leadership team, participating in company strategy and bringing a human-centric point of view front and center to the proverbial table. ### Independent Designer @ Self-employed Jan 2016 – Jan 2019 | San Francisco Bay Area Took an opportunity to focus on balance for a few years. Partnered with big-hearted folks trying to making positive changes through technology. Owned end-to-end strategy, research, design, and implementation of projects ranging from research initiatives, design systems consulting, new product design, existing product iteration and redesigns, branding refreshes, and marketing sites. Led design on both the internal web design system, launching the first and subsequent few iterations of our internal front-end framework, and the rider app design system alongside one of the first largest redesigns since the product's inception. Led design on Apple Music on Android, and other Top Secret Things. ### Senior Visual Designer @ Beats Music Jan 2013 – Jan 2014 At Beats Music, I got to marry my enthusiasm for discovering and sharing music with my first love of design, and work alongside some of the brightest and most passionate people I've met. My contributions touched all the platforms (iOS, Android, Windows, and Web), but I was focused on web and Android, working closely with engineering and product management to ensure thoughtful care was taken from conception to implementation. Outside of the consumer product, I led efforts on the .com site, artist tools, and the internal CMS and tools framework. I also got to curate playlists on the side for Beats Electronic :) ### Senior Designer @ ZURB Jan 2011 – Jan 2013 I started at ZURB as a Designer and became one of the team’s first Senior Designers in 2013. I worked with startups and big companies to help them develop systems to strategize, ideate, and implement web sites and applications. I employed strong design thinking methodologies to comprehensively understand a problem space and the humans at the other end of the product. My roles included sketching, user research and testing, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, and front-end development. ### Web Designer @ Zooka Creative Jan 2010 – Jan 2011 Zooka Creative specializes in all facets of a shopper’s retail experience, from idea conception, to marketing, to point-of-purchase. As a Web Designer, I worked on both digital marketing and application experiences to extend the stories of these products from the shelf to the screen. My specialties (online and off) included: designing e-commerce experiences for small boutiques to large corporations, marketing websites, web and mobile applications, branding, packaging, and retail display and signage design. ### Graphic Designer @ Anchor Intelligence Jan 2008 – Jan 2010 Anchor Intelligence provided transparent intelligence to advertisers to enable them to fight click fraud and make smarter decisions about traffic sourcing. As the sole designer, I was responsible for all graphic communication work.
