Through this internship/learning academy HCL provides us with resources to enhance our skills in full-stack development. We are place into teams to work on a semester long group project to simulate what it would be like working in a full-time position.

I work with a head counselor who is a certified male teacher (groups separated by gender) and together we are responsible for taking care of anywhere from 10-20 kids and making sure they all have a fun safe experience each and every day. This role improved my skills when placed in an authoritative position because I am fully responsible for everything that happens to the children. It also improved my communication skills because the head counselor and I always needed to be on the same page to prevent any mishaps and make sure the day ran smoothly.
