All created teaching material was original and designed in such a manner to ease students which may be unfamiliar with C programming in a UNIX-like environment into their introductory programming class. ### Summer STEM Teaching Assistant @ The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | New York, New York, United States Assisted in the development and instruction of the Robotics Crash Course led by Michael Giglia for Cooper Union's Summer STEM program. Work primarily revolved around creating lesson plans, course work, and lecturing on embedded C/C++ programming on the AVR microcontroller platform with the Arduino framework. Beyond teaching, a significant amount of time was spent on redesigning and extending existing in-house Arduino libraries to accelerate student development. ### President of Autonomy Lab @ Cooper IGVC Jan 2023 – Jan 2025 | New York, New York, United States ### Drive-By-Wire Sub-Team Lead @ Cooper IGVC Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 | New York, New York, United States ### Drive-By-Wire Firmware & Tooling Developer @ Cooper IGVC Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | New York, New York, United States ### Vehicle Software, Firmware Platforms @ Tesla Jan 2024 – Jan 2024 | Palo Alto, California, United States Wrote firmware for bring-up on the next generation Gateway. Performed low-level hardware initialization, ported over the existing bootloader, did a first pass at ECU sleep, and wrote various devices drivers. Worked with the Electronics Devices Team to deliver firmware for validation and MCU manufacturer to assist in bring-up for their unreleased chip. ### Vehicle Software, Chassis Controls @ Tesla Jan 2023 – Jan 2023 | Palo Alto, California, United States Wrote and tested safety-critical embedded C firmware for Cybertruck on the chassis controls steer-by-wire team. Primary contribution was the creation of a logging framework that allowed the use of existing CAN tooling for high-frequency logging in bandwidth-limited environments through the use of virtual CAN buses and the ability to upload logs over UDS for post-fault analysis. High-frequency interrupts and ADC sampling, RTOS, JTAG debugging, SIL tests, UBSan SIL integration, MPC5xxx, UDS, cross-core communication, CAN communication, code generation, and bootloader modifications. ## Education ### Masters of Engineering in Electrical Engineering The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art ### Bachelor's of Engineering in Electrical Engineering The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art ### Advanced Regents Diploma in Mechatronics & Robotics Brooklyn Technical High School ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/jacobkoziej - Portfolio: https://jacobkoziej.xyz - GitHub: https://github.com/jacobkoziej --- Source: https://flows.cv/jacobkoziej JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/jacobkoziej/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-11
