# Jade Mon > Incoming @ Apple | Prev. SWE @ Affirm, Parnassus | CS + DS @ UC Berkeley Location: United States, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/jademon Hello! My name is Jade Mon and I'm a senior at the University of California, Berkeley, double majoring in computer science and data science. Being a first-time programmer in college, I'm super passionate about coding because it genuinely brings me joy! I have 3+ years of programming experience through academic, internship and research roles. My experiences include... Software Engineering Intern for Affirm: I worked on multiple projects to bring Apple Pay and Stripe bank linking to millions of users worldwide. Developed APIs in Kotlin, created RPCs and configured JVMs (Java Virtual Machines). Led design reviews with the Checkout Experience team, collaborating with teams across the company to bring new features and collaborations to generate over $100M GMV worldwide. Software Engineering Intern for Parnassus: Developed accounting website for internal data analysis. Utilized C# for backend development. Worked with the ASP.NET Core framework to develop, design and create code, learning how to use and develop RESTful APIs. Cybersecurity Research at Proofpoint: Worked with data scientists at Proofpoint and group of UC Berkeley students to research the use of machine learning in detecting phishing emails. Programmed machine models, balancing the importance of interpretability and accuracy to create the perfect machine model that can be interpreted by all. Utilized Python, Jupyter Notebook, pandas and scikit-learn. Student Researcher at Space Sciences Laboratory: Worked with Professor Andreas Zoglauer and another student to convert MEGAlib files to CMake! These files are essential to the Space Sciences Laboratory's gamma ray telescope that will be launched by NASA in 2026. By updating these files in a more modern language, this ensures the seamless utilization of the software. Academic Intern for the UC Berkeley College of Computing, Data Science and Society: Being able to give back to the community that was my first exposure to coding was inspiring, as I helped students learn Python, teaching them key concepts about data analysis and guiding them through the programming process. 2x Academic Intern for Data8 and 1x Academic Intern for CS61A. Intern for NASA: Interned at the Ames Research Center as a VIP intern, researching eco-friendly methods for the aviation (AF) division. Proposed the use of thermoelectric generators in aircrafts as a solution to the negative impact of aviation emissions on the environment.
