Hey, I'm Jake! 👋 Here's a little bit about me.

I'm an incoming graduate student at Tufts University, where I will be pursuing a Master of Human Factors Engineering.

Mission Statement:

My mission is to be the most empathetic, reliable, and consistent version of myself. Whether in the context of my career, close personal relationships, or anything else, I always do the best that I can.
As an aspiring human factors engineer, I envision a rewarding and fulfilling career for myself where I’ll be focusing on making people’s lives easier. Human factors is all about making things as safe, user-friendly, and ergonomic as they can be for the user, and its human-centric nature is one of the reasons why I’m so excited about jumping into this amazing field.

I believe I am am cut out for a career in human factors engineering because I have a very people-first mentality. I believe that everyone should be treated with respect and kindness, diversity should be celebrated, and everyone should have the chance to share their own unique voice. When a company runs into a human factors problem, I want to be the person that can be counted on to fix it with the human-centric attitude it requires.
In the workplace, I value teamwork and communication. I thrive best in group settings because I love the creativity that happens when people with different perspectives start bouncing ideas off of each other. I’m definitely not afraid of having to come up with a solution from scratch – let’s find a whiteboard and get brainstorming.

Personal relationships are also very important to me. I’m not one to shy away from giving my family a quick call just to say hi. I actively maintain relationships and go out of my way to schedule things to do with friends and family. I also believe relationships are a two way street, and try my best to attend anything somebody else invites me to. It’s important to me to be the best brother, nephew, son, grandson, colleague, teammate, etc. that I can because I value all of those relationships a tremendous amount and would want all of those people to feel the same way about their relationship with me.

As I begin grad school in the Fall and enter the next chapter of my life, I intend to stay true to the values I have mentioned above, and continue to put my best foot forward.
