I should add more detail to this section. It's hard to do justice for all that goes into building GPU architectures over 4.5 years. For the bulk of this time I was an architect for the SM (streaming multiprocessor) a.k.a. shader unit, and led small teams writing and maintaining C++ code ranging from the functional validation model to our verification suite to the SM performance simulator. One memorable adventure was camping out in the lab for weeks for the bringup of Kepler GK107, the chip that brought NVIDIA back into the MacBook.
