I have an obsession with system design and good typography. ## Work Experience ### Sr. Product Designer @ Tempo Automation Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 | San Francisco Bay Area Principal designer for both customer-facing and internal apps, enabling collaboration between Electrical engineer customers and internal Manufacturing engineers, facilitating PCB (printed circuit board) prototype manufacturing. Customer-facing apps allowed EEs to respond to design feedback from Tempo, request multiple quotes, submit orders, and track manufacturing progress. Internal apps enabled our QA & Rework teams to resolve manufacturing defects in a timely and efficient manner. Developed testing scripts and prototypes for generative and evaluative tests with more than 20 electrical engineer customers. Gathered product and process requirements from internal stakeholders (Sales, Customer Success, Production, Marketing) and iterated based on feedback. ### Independent Product Designer @ Self-Employed Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | San Francisco Bay Area Led product design at Hooch (drink subscriptions for iOS & Android) to concept new features & standardize their design pattern library. Worked with Lot47 Coffee (unroasted coffee bean retailer) on brand strategy and designed/developed their Shopify theme. Designed, drew illustrations, & developed a new marketing site for Lifesquare (providing qualified medical personnel with immediate digital access to patients' health information). ### Sr. Product Designer (Contract) @ Thomson Reuters Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Hoboken, NJ Led the redesign of DataFlow, a tax data collection and workflow management app that powers many of the 190 tax reporting tools in the OneSource Corporate Tax suite, used by corporate accountants in 180 countries at companies like IBM, Ford, and BP. Collaborated with user researchers to formulate testing scripts and prototypes for contextual inquiry and usability studies, interviewing more than 40 accountants at both corporations and accounting firms. Created developer documentation and collaborated with a remote engineering and QA teams to ensure high build quality. ### Product Designer at Audible @ Amazon Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 | Greater New York City Area Focused on helping customers find the best next audiobook by improving content discovery (search/browse/product detail page) & defining and evolving design patterns (platform design). Mentored junior designers and built & maintained team design & prototyping resources. Collaborated with a user researcher to formulate testing scripts and prototypes for contextual inquiry and usability studies to inform iterative design changes. ### Product Designer @ Localytics Jan 2014 – Jan 2016 | Brooklyn, New York Led platform design (defining and iterating on core design patterns), design to development workflow, data visualization, attribution/remarketing, & messaging (push/in-app/email) campaign creation/management. Led concept development for version 4 of the dashboard, centered around User Lifecycle (Acquire, Engage, Grow, Retain) and goal-based workflows. Worked with customers like The New York Times, A&E, and Zipcar to better understand user needs and test new messaging and analytics features. ### Lead Product Designer @ AdsNative Jan 2013 – Jan 2014 Led user experience and branding, contributing to product marketing and messaging. Concentrated on improving and expanding campaign, adunit, and content management and analytics for premium online publishers including Politico, Gothamist, & MusixMatch. Established and maintained onboarding and FAQ documentation for publisher, advertiser, and network partners. Worked to simplify self-serve customer onboarding. ### Interactive Designer @ Brick Design Jan 2012 – Jan 2013 Collaborated with technology director for user experience and visual design for the Localytics analytics web app redesign. As project lead, I maintained a long-standing relationship that resulted in a contract for the version 3 redesign and ongoing consulting. Led visual design and user experience design for version 3 of the Localytics dashboard. Maintained and evolved sites for several existing clients, writing responsive Django and Handlebars templates. Led visual design, developed information architecture, and managed junior designers on projects for Kabam, Axcient, Mood Media, Alloy Product Development, & Vobok. Established best practices and internal resources for design and development of responsive web, iOS, and Android. Improved team and client communication best practices. ### Interactive Designer @ Inkling Jan 2011 – Jan 2012 Lead designer/developer, teaming with content architects, editorial staff, and developers to translate books from print volumes to structured digital content. Ensured the content design was clear and elegant while adapting it to be reflowable and device agnostic. Designed support for a diversity of content enhancements within the Inkling app. Explored ways of redefining the way literature is read and discussed as a natively digital experience. Composed Sass patterns to support prose, poetry, and plays. Taught editorial assistants basic HTML/CSS skills to allow them to make edits without developer support.
