Recently I took the jump into software development where I learned to make fascinating projects in React, Redux, and Rails. Working on a group project as the Team Lead I was able to gain experience with Git workflow and team member schedule management. Prior to studying programming, I opened and operated an environmentally conscious restaurant, The Little Rice Ball, where I focused on all aspects of the business from advertising and marketing, to employee management and hiring. I previously graduated from the State University of New York School of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF) where I served in numerous leadership roles such as student body treasurer and head of the orientation leader program. While studying here, my courses and research focused on the aquatic environment; specifically, freshwater lakes, streams and wetlands. Responsibilities included all aspects of the business, such as; hiring, payroll, marketing, advertising, supply management, bookkeeping, tax tracking, menu creation, etc. ### Aquatic Ecologist @ United States Geological Survey Jan 2015 – Jan 2017 Worked on various projects such as ground water monitoring for both residential and public supply wells, surface water monitoring for national water quality database, and mercury analysis of stream inverts and fish as part of an acid rain project. Additionally, I traveled to the Pacific-Northwest to work a large regional stream quality assessment project involving 100 streams over numerous disciplines (stream ecology, stream chemistry, stream physiology).
