# Jamie Worthy > UX/UI Designer in Video Games and Education Technology @DreamBox Location: Berkeley, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/jamieworthy Hi! I'm Jamie, your friendly neighborhood UX/UI Designer! I have 3 years experience supporting product and studio teams at early start-ups to develop team-based and math learning games. Previously, I had the joy of teaching anatomy at my alma mater and managing, training, and inspiring artistry in coffee shop crews. I'm always down to chat interests and opportunities--let's chat! A bit about my experiences so far: As an early career individual, I've taken joy in learning and contributing to both high-level product conversations as well as owning my design craft as an individual contributor. On product teams I've collaborated in developing north star visions and upholding them, worked through early product-market-fit experimentation and growth stages, as well as reiterative needed-feature discovery, prioritization, prototyping, and development. As for my work on games specifically, I've supported other creatives in their processes as well as taken on the role of solo, lead UXUI designer. And when our team [at Synthesis] held a game jam to diversify our studio's portfolio, I crafted a game pitch, which was prototyped and presented to studio stakeholders. I'm insatiably curious about all things game design and am currently experimenting with AI agents and art material studies in my free time. Why games? Games had a huge impact on how I see and think about problems--specifically The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker and Resident Evil 4. As a kid, I remember being unable to fathom the craftsmanship required create such complex, mind-bending worlds AND make them playable. In 2021, I realized I loved helping people solve everyday learning problems in the same way I loved solving dungeons and boss fight mechanics. And after quitting my jobs and not sending off a med school application, I began learning to program. When building a battleship-like game to practice Python, I discovered how UXUI designers support and guide gamers to solve in-game problems... And now, I'm exploring my childhood question first hand: what does it take to craft playable worlds? --- Skills & Software: Figma, Adobe Photoshop, XD, Illustrator, Sketch, Claude, Co-Pilot, ChatGPT, Midjourney AI, DALL-E AI, HTML/CSS, Python, VSCode, GitHub Keywords: UI/UX Design · Product Design · Interaction Design · Information Architecture · User Research · User Interviews · Game UX · Game UI · Level Design · Personas · Research Synthesis · Creative Ideation · User Testing · User Interface Design · Wireframing · Rapid Prototyping · User Flows · Journey Mapping · Human-Centered Design · Storyboarding ## Work Experience ### Product Designer @ Discovery Education Jan 2025 – Present Currently empowering student agency and curiosity on DreamBox Math games. ### UX/UI Designer @ [P1] Games Jan 2024 – Jan 2025 ### Product Designer @ Simili Jan 2024 – Jan 2024 ### UX/UI Designer @ Synthesis Jan 2022 – Jan 2024 •Successfully leveraged AI generated art assets to ship a new election simulation game ‘Natural Election’ as the Lead UX/UI Designer and Artist, in conjunction with game developers and scenario designers. •Collaborated closely with game developers to successfully re-launch our game Proxima Ultimate, introducing a revamped user interface, enhanced user experience, and fresh artwork.
