# Jared Zimmerman > Healthcare AI SVP | Leading Product Design, Research, Innovation & Business Strategy Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/jaredzimmerman Hi, I’m Jared, and I help product people make the best mistakes of their careers. I build teams where getting it wrong is part of getting it right. Where trying hard things is expected, not exceptional. I focus on systems and structures that help humans help machines be more human. By spotting problems early, asking better questions, and shaping how we solve, not just what we solve. The best opportunities usually start messy. The best teams know that. They’re not just fast; they’re curious, clear-headed, and comfortable navigating the unknown. That’s where I come in. I’ve led design, research, and AI strategy across healthcare, civic tech, and some of the world’s most complex platforms, from Google and Meta to Wikimedia and Innovaccer. Whether it’s turning fragmented data into clinical clarity or making open systems work at scale, my throughline is simple: design for real human needs, build systems that last, and lead teams that can do both. Especially in AI, success means working beyond edge cases, toward outcomes that are descriptive, flexible, and resilient. Responsible systems demand more than good intentions; they need clarity, foresight, and people willing to hold the ambiguity without letting it hold them back. What keeps me going is making things clearer, for users, for teams, and for the systems that connect them. That’s how we turn uncertainty into momentum. ## Work Experience ### SVP, Global Head of Product Design, Research & Innovation @ Innovaccer Jan 2025 – Present | San Francisco, California, United States ### Vice President, Product Design & Research @ Innovaccer Jan 2024 – Jan 2025 | San Francisco, California, United States Innovaccer is a healthcare technology company focused on improving outcomes and reducing system inefficiencies through unified data infrastructure. I lead the global Product Design and Research organization, setting the vision and operating model for design, research, and innovation across the company. My team is responsible for transforming fragmented healthcare data into clinically actionable, accessible systems that power real-time decision-making across providers, payers, and patients. This includes AI-powered tools for population health management, predictive risk stratification, care coordination, and patient engagement. I established a cross-functional framework to unify UX standards, research pipelines, and AI ethics review across initiatives. As a member of the leadership team, I help align product strategy with compliance, go-to-market priorities, and scaling toward IPO readiness. My role includes driving collaboration across engineering, clinical strategy, and commercial functions, ensuring the user experience vision aligns with regulatory standards and market needs. I built the leadership infrastructure to support a distributed global team and instituted mentorship practices to grow organizational capability. We’ve also operationalized user research practices to shape roadmap prioritization and leveraged ethnographic and longitudinal methods to inform platform usability and impact on clinical outcomes. ### Senior Director, Head of AI & AR Product Design @ Meta Jan 2021 – Jan 2023 | San Francisco, California, United States At Meta, I directed global AI design strategy across multiple surfaces—including Facebook, Instagram, Horizon, Portal, Oculus, Whatsapp — spanning ad systems, content relevance, ads/commerce, integrity, and AR/VR/XR interfaces. I oversaw the creation of frameworks for responsible AI use in product development and built systems that enhanced user trust, comprehension, and experience quality in algorithmically curated environments. My org partnered closely with product, engineering, and research leadership to integrate generative and predictive AI into user-facing workflows and to accelerate internal tooling development. In addition to building systems to govern responsible AI design, I also drove org-wide alignment around how emerging AI capabilities would surface in user experiences, including visual search, automated ad generation, and multimodal interfaces. I implemented education systems and design guidelines to enable safe and scalable deployment across Meta’s product suite. My team helped define how AI services interacted with core engagement, privacy, and accessibility standards at platform scale. ### Senior Director, Global Product Design & Research @ Delivery Hero Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 | Berlin, Germany Led design and research across all product lines at Delivery Hero, the world’s largest quick-commerce platform operating in 40+ countries. I built and mentored a cross-functional team of over 50 practitioners, redefined team structure, and instituted a global design operating model. I introduced user-centered KPIs into the executive decision framework and established end-to-end research practices to inform product, ops, and logistics experience planning. I worked directly with senior stakeholders to reshape the company’s design vision in a post-pandemic market environment, bringing together global PMs, engineering directors, and ops leaders to unify around experience objectives. I rolled out a new hiring rubric and onboarding program across all regions, implemented a shared research repository for insights reuse, and initiated a scalable program for inclusive design practices tailored to culturally and economically diverse user populations. ### Group UX Manager — Google Search @ Google Jan 2017 – Jan 2020 | Mountain View, CA Directed design teams across structured search verticals such as events, video, image, and user-generated content. Managed and scaled a 45+ person global organization, with responsibilities ranging from design systems and information architecture to executive alignment on long-term product evolution. I established team structure, career ladders, and product alignment practices that enhanced delivery cadence and improved cohesion across teams. I also helped develop early frameworks for content moderation UX and collaborated with Trust & Safety teams on surfacing quality sources across results.
