Fall 2020: Pine Beetle Prediction (spbpredict.com)

— Built data warehouse for analysis of Southern Pine Beetle populations and the forest damage they cause with Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, and R.

— Created idempotent and fast processes to ingest researchers’ data through CSV uploads and webhooks from ArcGIS Survey123.

— Optimized model runtime by >>10,000% and improved calculation accuracy to >98%.

Summer 2020: PeerTECH

— Created web app for mental illness peer support using React.js and Firebase.

— Architected user-friendly rich text editor and document management system for admins to distribute mental wellness resources.

Interned in the Vivado Implementation Tools group.

— Building a timing-aware placer for VLSI physical design on Xilinx FPGAs.

— Integrating software into the Vivado design suite to improve timing performance along critical wiring paths.

— Performing static timing analysis alongside traditional FPGA placement algorithms using C++, Boost.

— Automating and scripting regression tests on nightly Vivado builds.

— Synthesizing solutions for local business and organizations

— Analyzing market and consumer trends, pinpointing best practices to generate actionable next steps

Projects worked on:

— DCG internal project - aggregating best practices for college consulting group operations, outreach, marketing, and branding.

Teaching Assistant with the Department of Computer Science for COSC50: Software Design and Implementation.

— Held office hours for 3 hours/week to help teach concepts in bash, C, and software development principles.

— Graded student assignments on design, testing, implementation, and documentation.

— Worked with 100+ teens and families to instill critical soft skills such as time and emotional management, habit building, conversational skills, and self-awareness through after school programs, teen summer programs, and standalone workshops. Earned Net Promoter Scores of 70+.

— Project managed, developed original curriculum for, and led instruction on our Life Goals workshop for teens; received record-high student feedback of 9.64/10.

— Created mailing list that was grown to over 400 subscribers, designed website widget for collecting emails.

— Scouted and reserved facilities for public capstone events.

— Researched and proposed plans to use franchising to scale up the business.

— Took ownership of execution and task check-in, soundboarded ideas, and provided constructive feedback during company meetings and retreats.

After I concluded my work with Orenda in 2019, it has evolved to focus on parent workshops instead of teen programs while keeping the same end goal and vision in mind.
