Updates were made to brand assets including logo and app icons. With Jelly, we rebuilt the product from the ground up, including full redesign on mobile and web apps. I was the primary designer on alpha/beta apps, as well as redesign of the Jelly brand assets. ### Sr. Director, Product – Author Development @ Blurb Jan 2014 – Jan 2015 I led Blurb's "Author Development" efforts by building and launching Dream Team, a service aimed at authors and bookmakers to help them by providing direct access to vetted expert collaborators-for-hire across multiple editorial, art, and design sub-categories. ### Head of Design @ Betable Jan 2011 – Jan 2014 | San Francisco 2012-2014: Head of Design 2011-2012: Head of Product & Design ### Product & UX Consultant @ Holiday Extras Jan 2011 – Jan 2012 | Kent, UK ### VP, Product & Design @ SimpleGeo Jan 2010 – Jan 2011 | San Francisco Bay Area Acquired by Urban Airship. I ran product at SimpleGeo, where my goal was to make it as easy as possible for developers to add location-aware features to their web and mobile applications through a seriously kick-ass suite of products and services. I worked closely with engineering, BD, and developer advocacy teams to plan and oversee the successful launches of 4 core products. I was also the sole designer for SimpleGeo, so I handled the design of our website, developer dashboard, documentation, blogs, etc as well as the initial rebranding of the company and all of the extra collateral and odd-and-ends that go along with that. Much of the marketing, copywriting, brand positioning, etc became my jurisdiction as well. ### Director of Design & User Experience @ Digg Jan 2009 – Jan 2010 | san francisco, california I lead design and user experience at Digg after the exit of their original creative director. It ended up being a short gig, as the company continued to redefine itself and re-org before their launch of the famed and highly-anticipated "Version 4". My time at Digg was invaluable, as it was my first job in SF and I learned so much about working in and being part of the SF/SV startup scene. ### Chief Creative Officer @ Threadless Jan 2003 – Jan 2009 | Greater Chicago Area As Chief Creative Officer of Threadless.com / skinnyCorp, I helped build the company from a profitable side project into a global brand with a giant active online-community of tee shirt and design enthusiasts that still exists. ### Co-founder @ 15 Megs of Fame Jan 2004 – Jan 2006 | Greater Chicago Area 15 Megs of Fame was started by Jake Nickell, Jacob DeHart and myself. It was an online music community focusing on new bands being heard. Artists and listeners could join the site for free and discover and interact with new talent. Our timing was pretty unfortunate, launching just before MySpace Music. Doing a music site with deeply integrated community features was a really fun experiment alongside Threadless. ### Founder, Creative Director @ inFORMATION Design Lab Jan 1999 – Jan 2004 | Greater Chicago Area This was my freelance design business turned full-time design shop after leaving agency life. Clients included: EFFEN Vodka (launch), Kohler, XM Satellite Radio, Red Bull, various ad agencies, various music venues, and various nightlife promoters. ### Art Director @ Draft Jan 2001 – Jan 2002 | Greater Chicago Area I began working at Draft after they acquired KBA. Worked on Burger King, Kellogg's, Sprint, and a few others I can't remember. 9/11 happened while I was at Draft, which meant brands scrambled to understand how to communicate with customers in a post-9/11 country. I was involved in one of many rounds of lay-offs that followed. ### Sr. Designer @ KBA Marketing Group Jan 2000 – Jan 2001 | Greater Chicago Area Worked on: RJ Reynolds (I'm sorry!), Coca-Cola, Audi, Sirius Satellite Radio, and various internal culture-related projects. ### Associate Art Director @ Velocity Magazine Jan 1999 – Jan 2000 ## Education ### Graphic Design Columbia College Chicago ### Architecture Arizona State University ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/jeffreyk --- Source: https://flows.cv/jeffreykalmikoff JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/jeffreykalmikoff/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-13
