I've spent 6 years working with full-stack Javascript, but the greatest leap I've made as a software developer came when I was given the opportunity to lead the development of an internal application from the ground up.

In the last year, I've had first-hand experience with everything from interviewing target users, technical design and specification, UI/UX, backend and frontend development, to CI/CD and support. 

I've also had the experience of spending too much time working on unimportant features, and making costly time investments into exploring technologies that we decided not to use. Back then, I would have said I was making mistakes and wasting time. 

Now, I say I was learning how to prioritize and discovering the value of rapid iteration.

It's funny how a little perspective can change things in a big way, right? 

That's what I hope to bring to the table- the perspective of someone who has touched and struggled with many facets of software development, even the non-technical things. How to figure out what will make users happy; how to present ideas clearly and quickly; how to bridge the language and jargon gap between product manager and individual technical contributor. And most importantly, how to learn quickly.
