I formulated standard operating procedures to evaluate the thermostability of enzymes in the kernels. Another duty of mine was to measure the accumulation levels of proteins in the stover. I assisted my team members in the screening of 800+ Zea mays kernels. The data I collected was analyzed, summarized, and presented at weekly team meetings. ### Research Assistant @ Laboratory of Dr. Jennifer Normanly, University of Massachusetts Amherst Jan 2012 – Jan 2013 As a Research Assistant, I was part of a biofuel project that researched limonene production in different states. I filtered, harvested, and analyzed Camelina sativa and Arabidopsis thaliana leaves, seeds, and vapor. Using red fluorescent protein as a marker, I also inspected and screened for this protein in the seeds.
