Newmark Civil and Environmental Engineering Laboratory
My research in the area of environmental biotechnology is focused on utilizing microalgae for both nutrient recovery from waste water and biofuel production from cultivated biomass. By combining computer modeling, laboratory techniques, and bioinformatics I aim to investigate the potential for microalgae to play a key role in the energy-water nexus.
