I have successfully contributed to impactful projects, leveraging my expertise in software accessibility and functional design. Notably, I played a key role in building and maintaining 11 widgets for MoneyMap, a white-labeled money management React app developed by MX. Working with a dedicated team of 15 professionals, we aimed to empower users by enhancing their financial well-being.
Furthermore, I demonstrated my proficiency by developing and documenting new, reusable components for MX's internal design system. These components were intended to be utilized across more than 10 React applications within the organization. My focus on functional design and accessibility ensured that the components were not only visually appealing but also optimized for usability and inclusivity.
Throughout my engagements, I consistently prioritize the integration of accessibility best practices to ensure that software products cater to users with diverse needs. My role on the Frontend Engineering team at SoFi has been an enriching experience, fostering both personal and professional growth. I have had the privilege of working on various UI applications, with a primary focus on the Personal Loan app. Upon joining the team, our mission was to migrate the application from Angular to React.
Recently, we embarked on a complete redesign of the app, encompassing architectural, visual, and functional aspects. This project allowed us to create a more modern and user-friendly experience for our customers.
In addition to my development responsibilities, I have taken on the role of an elected onsite Accessibility trainer and advocate at our Salt Lake City location, joining a small group of dedicated individuals. Passionate about continuous learning and teaching, I provided training on the React Context API when it was initially released, which we successfully incorporated into our app redesign.
Furthermore, I collaborate closely with my teammates to ensure that all our applications prioritize accessibility. Leveraging the capabilities of the react-aria-live library, we strive to enhance the accessibility of our products, promoting inclusivity for all users.
