# Jeremy Gottfried > Software Engineer Location: Brooklyn, New York, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/jeremygottfried I’m a full stack engineer interested in how code can make the world a better place for artists. Thus far, I’ve spent my career building software and building teams for mission-driven companies like Fandiem (fan fundraising for non-profits), Major League Hacking (community-building and education for engineers), Nooklyn (software for renters), and Text Hotline (COVID vaccine access.) I grew up with my social worker father and folk musician mother running an arts summer camp, so community-building and supporting artists is a deep and lifelong passion that drives everything I do. I co-run Voices in the Heights—a music nonprofit funded by NYC Cultural Affairs and NY Council on the Arts—which gives musicians in less commercially-viable areas of the music industry a place to shine (and generous compensation.) I’ve organized events for nonprofits like Clearwater and People’s Music Network, and helped raise emergency funds for musicians over the pandemic with the popup festival Sofa King Fest. I have extensive experience as an audio engineer and volunteer my time for events featuring musicians from under-represented groups. In my capacity as a Wikipedia editor, I have led the adoption of more gender-affirming language in articles. In my free time, I’m a musician and do improv comedy. I believe levity and fun can go a long way in approaching thorny problems. ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer @ Kickstarter Jan 2023 – Present | Brooklyn, New York, United States ### President Board of Directors @ Voices In The Heights Jan 2018 – Present | Brooklyn, New York, United States Voices In The Heights is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and concert series dedicated to creating community among musicians and listeners.
