During my initial decade at Google, my work primarily involved developing servers and backend infrastructure capable of handling immense global demand. Notable projects included: * Developing the content acquisition platform for Google Music, handling the processing of the world's digital music. * Creating Google's customer-facing VPN service. * Building a video upload and management system for Google Video, prior to YouTube's existence. In my second decade at Google, I shifted focus to mobile development, specializing in Android. I contributed to various aspects of the Android OS and designed and built mobile applications widely used billions globally. If you've used an Android device, you've interacted with my work! Currently, I have returned to backend engineering at Maven AGI, applying my expertise to develop enterprise-grade AI services at scale. I love the complexity of the problems and pace of innovation happening right now. I remain passionate about exploring cutting-edge technologies, continuous learning, and staying abreast of industry trends and best practices. As a founding engineer, I was instrumental in building the platform from inception. Currently, I lead the engineering team, delivering value through: * Defining technical direction and strategy to align closely with company goals. * Overseeing system architecture design, ensuring scalability, reliability, and availability of agentic systems. * Mentoring engineers through complex technical challenges, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development. ### Staff Software Engineer (Level 6) - Tech Lead (Android), Google Play Games for PC @ Google Jan 2019 – Jan 2023 | San Francisco, California, United States Tech lead of Android development and founding member of the Google Play Games for PC project. I helped to take the project from an idea to publicly available in multiple countries. I set the initial direction for our Android work and oversaw most of its development. I played a key role in creating a customized Android image that was specialized to run Android games within a VM hosted on Windows. In addition to making changes to core pieces of Android code, I implemented and maintained bespoke Android apps and integrated them with key first party apps like the Play Store. ### Staff Software Engineer (Level 6) - Tech Lead, Android Instant Apps @ Google Jan 2017 – Jan 2019 | San Francisco, California, United States Tech lead responsible for creating a deeper integration between the Play Store and Instant Apps. ### Staff Software Engineer (Level 6) - Tech Lead (Android), Google Fi @ Google Jan 2013 – Jan 2017 | San Francisco Bay Area Early member of the Project Fi team. I was the tech lead and manager of the Android team responsible for Google Fi’s VPN solution, Google WiFi Assistant. During my time with the team I helped to create and launch WiFi Assistant to all Nexus users and made numerous contributions to the Android open source project including 2 new public API methods. WiFi Assistant was eventually rebranded as Fi VPN, taken out of beta and expanded to iPhone. ### Staff Software Engineer (Level 6) - Tech Lead, Google Music @ Google Jan 2010 – Jan 2013 | San Francisco Bay Area Initial member of the Google Music team that launched Google Play Music. I was the tech lead responsible for two core pieces of infrastructure: 1) content ingestion and 2) our external SFTP server. For content ingestion I worked directly with the big 4 music labels (EMI, Sony, WMG and Universal) and built a system capable of acquiring their content along with the content from more than 100 other music labels. Part of that task including writing a Google-scale distributed SFTP server which accepted more than 100M files and 1PB of data during my tenure with the team. ### Staff Software Engineer (Level 6) - Business Intelligence @ Google Jan 2009 – Jan 2010 | San Francisco Bay Area Part of a small team tasked with helping to improve Google’s display ad revenue. We successfully developed a data pipeline capable of identifying previously unknown inventory opportunities which allowed our sales team to better match ad supply to the existing demand. ### Staff Software Engineer (Level 6) - Google Video @ Google Jan 2005 – Jan 2009 | San Francisco Bay Area Part of the core team that launched video.google.com. Specifically I designed and implemented the video upload and management system.
