As a LACI Advanced Prototyping Center Intern, I’m diving into the intersection of sustainable manufacturing, product thinking, and clean energy innovation. This hands-on internship gives me the opportunity to learn how hardware for climate tech is imagined, fabricated, and scaled — from CNC machining and 3D printing to materials research and rapid prototyping.

I’m gaining insight into how physical products can be designed for both performance and sustainability. My goal is to bring together my background in UX and product management with new skills in fabrication and industrial design to create tools and systems that support a more sustainable and equitable products.

As a LACI Fellow, I’m exploring the intersection of product thinking, user experience, and clean energy innovation. This eight-week hybrid program focuses on Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS), an emerging space in climate tech that supports energy optimization and electrification.

Through hands-on training and industry mentorship, I’m learning how grid technologies can be made more efficient and more inclusive. My goal is to apply my background in UX and product management to help translate technical systems into accessible, human-centered tools that support a more sustainable and equitable future.
