Santa Clara, CA
In the Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP), I was mentored by the CTO while working on high impact initiatives through rotations in engineering and product management.
Backend Engineer (Rotation #3)
• Implemented features for autoscalable microservices in Go that run in a distributed multi-cloud environment, using 12-factor app methodology
• Built API for metadata caching, and write-ahead log using AWS Kinesis
• Collaborated on Python scripts for automating deployment in AWS/Azure/GCP
• Wrote benchmark performance tool for metadata microservice integration
Product Manager (Rotation #2)
• Directed new product direction for engineering team of 9 through iterative process with extensive market research and feedback from frequent pitches/demos
• Managed all connections with key stakeholders (i.e. Head of Presales, CTO, Chief Architect, VP of Engineering) and potential pilot customers
Frontend Engineer (Rotation #1) in the Maginatics team (acquired cloud startup).
• Built high-priority web app features for GA release — i.e. data protection policies, data visualization/analytics, welcome walkthrough
• Led development on Angular component library used by the whole org, enforcing good design patterns, best practices, and accessibility
In my spare time, I took on creating cloud programming projects, teaching material for cloud workshops, and other cloud educational initiatives (i.e. how to use AWS and Azure services, Docker containers/Kubernetes) reaching about ~100.
2017 — 2017
• Selected for a group of 100 VR content creators participating in Oculus's Launch Pad.
• Worked on two VR experiences:
1: Imaginarium
• Developed a multiplayer VR experience, using IBM Watson and other natural language processing techniques to spawn interactive characters and props as the player narrates with their friends
2: #maybetheydonthityou
• Designed an educational VR experience about emotional abuse, using Google Tiltbrush and conducting interviews of victims to inform the script
• I am a developer participating this program, not an employee of Oculus
2015 — 2016
Berkeley, California
Worked on one of the most popular student resources, Berkeleytime.com, in the ASUC Office of the Chief Technology Officer. It is a web app built in Django that helps students effectively manage their scheduling needs, both in the academic and extracurricular front. It has over 150,000 unique visits per year, and growing.
Specifically, I worked on redesigning search and creating a personalized dashboard.
