I have a few projects in the works as a DIT II, and a few completed. I updated the test framework to incorporate jinja templating, to adopt a more object-oriented test strategy. I also wrote a web tool using python, flask and jinja to help software testers begin to use the new template functionality. I currently am working on data analysis suites for both the test framework and the application in test, so we can better understand how new features are used and keep automatic metrics. I have designed pipelines using Spotify's luigi library to clean up data from varying sources and put them into either PostgreSQL or Mongo databases. ### Software Developer in Test @ Expeditors Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 I started out by getting my feet wet with test automation using the company's in-house test framework. I eventually moved to working on the test framework itself. Coding in Python, I created an data driven http service that mitigated the risk posed to testing when dependent external services were down by mocking out the requests to those calls and returning data defined by the tester instead. ### Undergraduate Student Researcher @ Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) Jan 2014 – Jan 2015 I helped out with analysis on the LSST stack's faint source detection, comparing it with existing surveys' data. ## Education ### Bachelor’s Degree in Physics and Astronomy University of Washington Jan 2011 – Jan 2015 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/jessi-shank --- Source: https://flows.cv/jessi JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/jessi/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-22
