- Managed advanced anode material development by collaborating with BASF (Leading Chemicals solutions provider) and planning product roadmap, successfully developed a new formula with 25% battery specific capacity increase
- Designed and implemented a data-driven digitalization workflow into battery development by building ETL process with python to save data in SQL databases and load them with analytics and render in Tableau for data visualization, which saved 80% manual work and decreased the report cycle by 33%
- Participated in planning and screening sites and factory suppliers for a 1 GWh battery factory in China by meeting with the 10+ suppliers and presenting screening results and next steps proposals to the senior management team weekly
- Collaborated with Carnegie Mellon University on next-gen active materials research, published 3 papers on journals
- Assisted in setting up a quality test lab in China and coordination with local suppliers, saving $3M quality inspection cost
- Experiments design: Based on chemical reaction equation and the equipment properties to design formula and process parameters. Apply regression to identify the best parameters.
- Cathode materials screening: Designed test plans for 10 different cathode materials from 4 suppliers. Identified best candidates by running statistical comparisons.
- Pilot line process optimization: Applied 6 sigma to the pilot line. Standardized process parameters and control the precision and accuracy of output materials from the slurry, spray dry, calcining.
