Optimization of Linux OS environment for Medical Device Product Platforms

Linus OS and related infrastructure support for software build farm and Machine Vision AI model training cluster - Nvidia GPUs, CUDA, etc.

I am a Sr Unix Admin and jack of all trades within the Engineering Infrastructure Services department. I typically perform automated server builds using cobbler & puppet, with an eye on continuous improvement of these services. I do high level problem diagnosis & resolution for issues that get escalated to my team. This year I lead the planning and execution of our three day long Global Maintenance project for the San Jose headquarters. I also take on special projects including security remediation initiatives, as well as new infrastructure build-out in cloud service providers like Azure and AWS. My current major project is a POC for an effort it globally segregate the IP environments of our sensitive engineering data from the rest of the corporate network.

I am the team lead for the Unix Operations group in the San Jose corporate headquarters. My responsibilities include Solaris and Linux system administration, SAN fabric and storage array management utilizing Brocade, Hitachi, HP, Netapp, EMC, and Pillar arrays. I built out and managed our multisite Splunk systems, and am the primary resource for our Sun One LDAP and Infoblox external DNS systems. I have used VMware Vsphere to build out and manage many RH Linux clients. My responsibilities also included Unix on-call rotation, general Unix break-fix activities, as well as managing and farming out incoming Unix tickets to other team members.
