Proven track record of building and scaling technology teams, successfully designing and operating large-scale, complex, high-availability solutions, and driving innovative technology strategy. Passionate about education, and inspired by the ways technology can empower learners. As the first engineering hire at BookNook, I grew a team of 2 into a multidisciplinary technology organization of 26 FTEs and 13 near-shore contractors. I’ve built dozens of services, from WebGL-based flight simulators to cloud-based ETL systems for processing terabytes of sensor data. I’ve worked on a high-performance Java-based tracing system that worked at Twitter-scale TPS, all the way down to doing SEO for a small farm in exchange for food and a bed when I spent 14 months traveling the world in 2016.
