I designed a responsive website to help 800,000+ San Francisco residents understand the earthquake safety of their homes! Did you know that ~5,000 buildings in San Francisco are at risk of collapse in a major earthquake? I organized and conducted user interviews and usability tests to uncover key pain points around trust and information clarity. I collaborated closely with engineers, data scientists, product managers, and other designers to translate these insights into thoughtful design decisions. ### UX Designer Intern @ LePal.ai Jan 2024 – Jan 2024 ### Client Experience Specialist @ Center for Developing Minds Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 | Los Gatos, California, United States ### Instructor — Introduction to Skincare Course @ University of California, Berkeley Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | Berkeley, California, United States I taught a 12-week course on skincare fundamentals with 45 UC Berkeley students. I leveraged my 3+ years of industry experience and self-teaching with published literature. This course encouraged critical thinking on popular beauty claims. The students’ backgrounds ranged from STEM to humanities and business — I focused on making the material accessible and engaging for all. I utilized a variety of teaching styles, incorporating interactiveness with classic lectures. Each class was iterated with regular student surveys checking for understanding and requesting teaching feedback. ### Research & Innovation Intern @ L'Oréal Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | Clark, New Jersey, United States I designed and executed comprehensive testing protocols to generate product claims. I conducted social listening to understand consumers’ online conversations and feedback and gain insights into consumers’ true expectations of sulfate-free shampoos. This both informed my testing protocols and contributed to a consumer-centric approach. I collaborated cross-functionally, upstream with the Discovery team and downstream with the Clinical Claims and Quality Assurance teams to ensure a comprehensive perspective. At the end, I presented findings to cross-functional stakeholders and upper management. As a side project, I used Final Cut Pro and Procreate for iPad to create internal videos showcase various product benefits. ### Research & Innovation Extern @ L'Oréal Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Remote My team won the "Most Scalable" award in the externship's hackathon with 20+ teams. We identified the a L'Oréal consumer brand's fastest-growing market segment, Gen Z, and redesigned packaging with them in mind. We implemented an environmentally friendly material sourcing strategy and renewed the unboxing experience. Our prototype would reduce single-use plastic by 50% and increase shipping efficiency 3x. I used Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to design mockups of the prototype to present to cross-functional executives. Further, I gained valuable insights into industry trends and product development at L’Oréal. ### Founder @ Aurum Cosmetics (UC Berkeley) Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 | Berkeley, California, United States Since 2018, Aurum has amassed a notable presence and following both at UC Berkeley and on social media (Instagram: @calaurumcosmetics). Resources for aspiring beauty professionals are scarce, though many bright students are interested in the beauty industry. After experiencing this firsthand upon entering college, I founded Aurum Cosmetics — UC Berkeley’s first and only beauty professional development organization. Aurum’s mission is to empower students interested in beauty careers. We host on-campus networking sessions with current industry professionals. We also provide hands-on, resume-worthy experience in cosmetic formulation, social media, and marketing. That said, what truly ties us together is our supportive community. ### Head of Research Committee @ Aurum Cosmetics (UC Berkeley) Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 | Berkeley, California, United States I led a committee of eight members in formulating lipsticks in an incubator lab at UC Berkeley's College of Chemistry. I leveraged my 2 years of cosmetic lab experience to teach basics of cosmetic formulation: raw ingredient types and uses, equipment technique, and stability testing. ### President @ Aurum Cosmetics (UC Berkeley) Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 | Berkeley, California, United States ### Product Development Intern @ Symbiome Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | San Francisco, California, United States In my second summer at Symbiome, I used Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to design influencer marketing materials while adhering to an established branding and style guide. I collaborated daily with the CSO and CEO to examine ingredients to use in our new microbiome skincare line, thoroughly researching their therapeutic effects with published literature and their reputations with social media. At this dynamic startup, I immersed myself in the startup ecosystem and enriched my understanding of the product development lifecycle, user-centric design, and the agile nature of startups. This experience fostered my ability to understand our target audience, identify their needs, and strategize how to meet them effectively. ### Product Development Intern @ Symbiome Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | San Francisco, California, United States In my first summer at Symbiome, I ideated and designed logos using Adobe Photoshop, contributing to the brand identity exploration. I gained hands-on experience in visual storytelling and brand identity. I revolutionized the lab's efficiency by developing an inventory system using Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets. This initiative not only organized raw materials but also minimized waste, contributing to a more sustainable and cost-effective production process. ### Bobarista @ Sharetea (全球加盟總部) Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Berkeley, California, United States I interacted with diverse clientele efficiently and thoughtfully, memorized a wide menu of recipes, and adapted promptly to troubleshoot any customer dissatisfaction. ### Research & Development Intern @ Allure Labs, Inc.
