# Jocie Moore > Staff Engineer at Minerva Project Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/jocie I am a Bay Area software engineer with knowledge of front-end and back-end application development. I have experience with technologies such as JavaScript, Node.js, React, Ruby, Rails, PostgreSQL, and AWS. Additionally, I co-created BAM!, an open-source, serverless framework for deploying applications using Node.js, AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway and DynamoDB. ## Work Experience ### Staff Engineer @ Minerva Project Jan 2024 – Present ### Senior Software Engineer @ Minerva Project Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 ### Software Engineer @ Minerva Project Jan 2019 – Jan 2023 | San Francisco Bay Area ### Co-Creator, Software Engineer @ BAM! Jan 2018 – Present BAM! is an open-source, lightweight serverless framework used to quickly build and deploy applications with Node.js and Amazon Web Services (AWS). BAM! abstracts away the complexities of working with AWS and enables a developer to deploy an AWS Lambda function connected to an Amazon API Gateway with one command, no configuration, and in at least 55% less time compared to similar frameworks. • Built robust CLI that abstracts away lengthy sequences of SDK method invocations to create lambda functions and API gateways in Amazon cloud infrastructure. • Implemented user-friendly interface, which includes opinionated defaults; automated npm package dependency management; and instructional templates made for serving webpages, accessing Amazon DynamoDB tables, and integrating with API endpoints. • Strengthened deployment sequences by gracefully handling latency, AWS throttling, and resource compatibility issues. • Supported functionality to persist data between lambda invocations using NoSQL storage solution. • Co-authored comprehensive white paper about engineering the BAM! framework. ### Full Stack Engineer @ Freelance Web Development Jan 2016 – Jan 2018 Developed several personal projects and web applications using a variety of technologies and languages. • Airlines Routes Viewer: A React application that allows users to view airline routes and filter them by airline or airport. The airline routes viewer was deployed through Heroku and bootstrapped with Create React App. • Takeout Sushi Webstore: A single page application (SPA) for viewing sushi menu items and ordering takeout. The webstore was developed using a client-side MVC architecture pattern, Backbone.js, Express, Pug, Stylus, and Handlebars. • Project Management Tool: A Ruby on Rails application that enables authenticated team members to manage the lifecycle of projects and tasks together. The app was developed also using ActiveRecord, ERB templates, and PostgreSQL. ### Software Engineer @ Dealer.com Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Burlington, Vermont Area Developed Java-based web applications that automated backend processes; integrated with partners (Google, Facebook, Bing); and supported a large, automotive, advertising platform. ### Rich Media Designer @ Dealer.com Jan 2015 – Jan 2017 | Burlington, Vermont Area Designed and developed online display ads and corresponding webpages. ## Education ### Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology Lewis & Clark College ### Computer Software Engineering Launch School ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/jocie-moore - Portfolio: https://www.jociemoore.com --- Source: https://flows.cv/jocie JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/jocie/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-10
