I get excited about taking an idea, building it, and watching it come to life. It is with this excitement and hunger for knowledge that I continue my journey as an emerging software engineer. I am currently searching for my next big opportunity.
During this six month project my team and I worked closely with the Amazon Lab 126 product owners to design and develop a unified, inclusive, and intuitive visualization console for data across all types of IoT devices. I pioneered the development of dynamic IoT data generation for visualization and testing, which was built using Python and the AWS boto3 library. I also managed the backend database using AWS DynamoDB and wrote a Python-based daemon hosted on AWS Lambda that monitors the state of the database and spawns more Lambda functions based on certain events.
The Academic Excellence (ACE) Program has a mission to increase the diversity of those with degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through collaborative problem solving sessions and a strong, supportive academic community.
For a majority of three academic years I worked for ACE as a Co-Leader for physics, math, and engineering introductory courses. Often these courses are some of the most rigorous courses in STEM because a vast amount of foundational material must be covered in very little time. Dense textbooks required. I mentored and supported students through this onslaught by developing active learning strategies, adapting to different learning styles, and engaging groups to work as a team to solve problems.
I learned a lot about diversity, collaboration, and community while working with many different types of people. ACE truly is the place!
