# John Wilde > Software Engineer Location: Union City, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/johnwilde I get excited about taking an idea, building it, and watching it come to life. It is with this excitement and hunger for knowledge that I continue my journey as an emerging software engineer. I am currently searching for my next big opportunity. I have a wide range of experience across multiple technology stacks and I enjoy working in both sides of the stack: frontend and backend. I have a strong passion to create software, whether elegant or just plain practical, that can solve real-world problems and have a positive impact on our future. ## Work Experience ### Full Stack Engineer @ Meta Jan 2021 – Present | Menlo Park, California, United States • Built a Continuous Integration (CI) pipeline that decreased building, testing, and review times. • Improved team wide source control practices by migrating to Git and advocating for a standardized workflow. • Implemented CI scripts to automate building and testing of the codebase per commit. • Designed a complete application UI refresh in Figma as part of a proposal to enhance and modernize the frontend tech stack. • Implemented new application UI using React following the design spec. ### Software Engineer @ LookingGlass Cyber Solutions, Inc. Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 | San Jose, California, United States • Developed enterprise security applications as part of a diverse agile development team. • Implemented and improved core API, UI, and backend logic across multiple projects and release cycles. • Upgraded and automated internal testing tools that dramatically improved testing coverage, speed, and ease of use. • Produced and reviewed both internal and external development requirements and documentation. • Skills: Java, Spring, Tomcat, Maven, Python, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, Elasticsearch, Kibana, PostgreSQL ### Software Engineer Intern @ Amazon Lab126 Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Santa Cruz, CA During this six month project my team and I worked closely with the Amazon Lab 126 product owners to design and develop a unified, inclusive, and intuitive visualization console for data across all types of IoT devices. I pioneered the development of dynamic IoT data generation for visualization and testing, which was built using Python and the AWS boto3 library. I also managed the backend database using AWS DynamoDB and wrote a Python-based daemon hosted on AWS Lambda that monitors the state of the database and spawns more Lambda functions based on certain events. ### LSS Computer Science Tutor @ University of California, Santa Cruz Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Santa Cruz, CA ### ACE Co-Leader (Tutor & Peer Mentor) @ University of California, Santa Cruz Jan 2015 – Jan 2018 | Santa Cruz, California, United States The Academic Excellence (ACE) Program has a mission to increase the diversity of those with degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through collaborative problem solving sessions and a strong, supportive academic community. For a majority of three academic years I worked for ACE as a Co-Leader for physics, math, and engineering introductory courses. Often these courses are some of the most rigorous courses in STEM because a vast amount of foundational material must be covered in very little time. Dense textbooks required. I mentored and supported students through this onslaught by developing active learning strategies, adapting to different learning styles, and engaging groups to work as a team to solve problems. I learned a lot about diversity, collaboration, and community while working with many different types of people. ACE truly is the place! ## Education ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Computer Science University of California, Santa Cruz ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/johnmwilde --- Source: https://flows.cv/johnwilde JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/johnwilde/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-29
