# Jonathan H. > Sometime dreamer, sometime builder Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/jonathanh1 Hi, I'm Jonathan. One time I built an Android app for Aura Frames and grew it with the company. I also like to travel and snowboard. When I decided that my time at Aura was over, I knew that I had to let some things go. It was a long exhale, and I was very fortunate to be able to travel around the globe and do things that I love. Of course, the world kept changing while I was doing my thing. And I missed being an engineer. I can't say anything new about AI, and I'm not sure I know anything that ChatGPT doesn't. Even still, this thing so easily captures my imagination as new worlds become possible. So my focus is to learn how to work with these tools, learn how they are made, and my goal is to be able to intuitively use them. For my next role: I want to work with data. I enjoy programming. I'm interested in applying machine learning and ai tech in useful and inclusive ways. ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Aura Home, Inc. Jan 2024 – Present ### Advanced AI Data Trainer @ Invisible Jan 2024 – Jan 2024 | Remote ### Bartender @ Ovation Events LLC Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 | Houston, Texas, United States ### Snowboard Instructor @ Vail Resorts Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 I worked with the Park City - Canyons Resort team to help organize clients and lessons. I would be assigned a group for the day to teach. It was important to assess where each student was in their snowboarding journey so I could provide instruction to help them along. I found talking with other instructors to be beneficial in coming up with new and better strategies for lessons. There was also a strong community at Park City where I was able to take some electives to help further my skills. ### Senior Software Engineer @ Aura Home, Inc. Jan 2016 – Jan 2022 | San Francisco, California - Led the end-to-end development of Aura Home's Android application, often as the sole contributor, leading to the successful delivery of key software updates. - Provided guidance and mentorship for other Android developers, including codebase introduction and integrating new ideas for modernization. - Assumed additional responsibilities when necessary, contributing to backend, iOS, and frame projects. - Managed the integration of machine learning models into the Android app as part of a product vision, improving user experience in photo addition and management. - Led a substantial software project to enhance the frame's functionality to display two photos simultaneously, previously supporting only one. This achievement required skillful handling of asynchronous code flows, abstraction, and significant code refactoring. ### Software Developer @ MediaFire.com Jan 2014 – Jan 2016 - Collaborated with a senior developer on the company's Android app, gaining exposure to industry coding practices and standards. - Actively participated in the conceptualization phase of the "Pool" app, collaborating with the product team and senior developers to create a user-friendly platform for easy photo sharing. - Led the technical development and architecture of the "Pool" app, working closely with the iOS team for cross-platform consistency. The app was successfully launched, meeting all product specifications, but was later discontinued due to low user growth. - Shifted to web development near the end of tenure, acquiring skills in React with Redux. ## Education ### Certificate in AI and Machine Learning Simplilearn Alumni ### Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Engineering in Computer Engineering Texas A&M University ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/jondh --- Source: https://flows.cv/jonathanh1 JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/jonathanh1/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-05
