Burlingame, California, United States
• Designed, developed, and managed a software system that automates recording and processing of custom GNSS transmissions
• Designed, built, and tested a ruggedized, deployable, and remotely-controllable hardware rack to run the automated recording software system
• Designed and wrote a software controller to coordinate operation of NI-VISA electronic loads and power supplies to perform accelerated aging tests on custom electronics
• Wrote and maintained a serial library for transmitting and receiving serial messages for a custom GNSS hardware receiver
• Streamlined development by configuring Gitlab CI/CD pipelines for version-controlled software including creating Dockerfiles and registering Docker images
• Managed various Linux IT-related operations, e.g. set up machines for remote SSH access, static IP assignment, user administration, etc.
2020 — 2021
2020 — 2021
• Automated post processing of radio occultation data
• Improved process reliability by incorporating detailed per-run event and error logging
• Designed and wrote a multi-threaded, datalogging, and telemetry-reporting system
2012 — 2020
2012 — 2020
Las Vegas, Nevada
• Troubleshot 5V/3.3V embedded electronics systems (based on AVR microcontrollers
like the ATmega32U4, 328P, etc.) and their software libraries
• Helped guide students/hobbyists/entrepreneurs towards workable project solutions
using various ubiquitous motion control methods (RC servos, stepper motors, brushed
DC motors, linear actuators, etc.) and their appropriate electronic controllers
• Streamlined internal processes (product testing, quality control, electronics
manufacturing, etc.) by developing in-house jigs and test fixtures using laser cutters and
3D printers (FDM)
• Designed injection-molded plastic and machined/stamped metal parts using SolidWorks,
including producing drawings and model files for manufacturing and dimension
diagrams for public use
• Routed PCBs with Altium to create carrier boards for brushed DC motor drivers
2010 — 2011
Atlanta, GA
Assisted the University NanoSat team within the Command and Data Handling Subsystem:
• Routed, soldered, and tested first revision electrical components used to interface spacecraft bus and instrumentation
• Programmed, installed, and launched data logging payload aboard a helium balloon satellite (100,000ft)
2010 — 2011
Atlanta, GA
Undergraduate researcher within the Institute for Computing Education:
• Conducted robotics (Tetrix, Robot C) workshops for high school teachers, students (respectively)
• Demonstrated youth robotics technology for teachers and school programs
• Worked with teachers to provide technical support and effective instructional techniques for student programs
• Developed new lesson plans, instructional manuals, and robotic builds/programs; trained other students in usage
